It’s 82 miles of dirt and paved roads, covered bridges, punishing hills and scenic rolling hills and it’s happening this weekend right here in the Battenkill Valley. It’s The Tour of the Battenkill and if you haven’t witnessed this spectacle – a kaleidoscope of colorful spandex and wrap-around sunglasses and very expensive bicycles – you ought to come take a look.
The 2010 edition played host to over 2,000 amateur and professional cyclists from throughout North America and dozens of nations worldwide, and, as usual, this year looks like it will surpass the previous one.
The Cambridge Girls Scouts will host a dinner April 9th at the Rice Mansion Inn.
Eat in at 3:30pm or 5:30pm, or Take Out. (Only 300 dinners are being sold.)
It’s $12.00/person and includes your choice of lasagna, salad, bread and water or soda.
Side of Sausage, add $2.00. Proceeds to Benefit our local Girl Scouts
On Sunday come out for the Cambridge Lacrosse Pancake Breakfast
also at the Rice Mansion Inn from 7a-11a, featuring Mapleland Farms Maple Syrup, for a measly $5.00. (A few other a la carte options will be available as well!)
