About this event
Back for its third year, the Philadelphia Orchestra invites string musicians and students to perform with and learn from members of the Philadelphia Orchestra during PlayIN at SPAC.
Advanced and intermediate level String players (violin, viola, cello, and bass) of all ages are invited to join music director Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the Orchestra’s assistant conductor Kensho Watanabe, and Philadelphia Orchestra musicians onstage in a shared musicmaking event that will excite and inspire.
The program will consist of works by Grieg, Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and Holst.
The event is free for the public to watch, but interested musicians must register beforehand through the website link, as there is limited space (there will be a waiting list after the spaces are filled). They will also find links to downloadable PDFs of the music that will be performed.
Participants will check in at 12:30 pm before the 1:30 pm event.
The Philadelphia Orchestra’s PlayINs are funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
