Before becoming an artists’ residency in 1926, Yaddo grounds had a grist mill, sheep, a vegetable garden (and a tavern!). Later, the Trasks established the Gardens and a dairy farm. In recognition of these origins and the place the culinary arts hold in our lives, join Yaddo for a Farm-to-Table gathering with guests-of-honor, author and co-founder of Essex Farm, Kristin Kimball and Yaddo author, journalist, and food writer Alex Halberstadt. Held on the Great Lawn, guests will enjoy a delicious fall-inspired gourmet picnic basket and seasonal cocktails with the Mansion as the backdrop. Each basket will contain savory creations by Yaddo Chef Michael Blake with fresh produce and meat provided by Essex Farms.
