By reversing the detrimental cellular signals of stress and promoting beneficial molecular signals, mind-body practices can help to rewire our brains and bodies to thrive. This is important, because most <a href=\"https:\/\/dr-lobisco.com\/cognitive-effects-of-stress-and-naturopathic-doctors-coping-with-stress-and-mental-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">physical and emotional issues are<\/a> linked to or perpetuated by stress.<\/p>\n<p>This makes practicing IM and mind-body medicine to make us healthier and optimize our wellness outcomes a scientific, serious matter. Yet, it doesn\u2019t always have to be somber.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/dr-lobisco.com\/the-epigenetics-of-mind-body-medicine-laughter-relaxation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">my latest post,<\/a> I show how we can take this topic with a bit more levity. I also give some tips on how to make relaxation and IM more of a ritual in your life so you can benefit your DNA. Specifically, I discuss:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>How the connections between laughter, genetics, and mood can impact your heart health.<\/li>\n<li>Why taking time to refresh and rejuvenate should be a priority in your day.<\/li>\n<li>Tips for making relaxation a daily habit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>By disengaging from the chaotic world and taking time to reconnect with yourself using mind-body applications, laughter, and relaxation, you can alleviate the negative emotional and physical impacts of stress and promote mind-body flourishing.<\/p>\n<p>This is why<a href=\"https:\/\/dr-lobisco.com\/the-epigenetics-of-mind-body-medicine-laughter-relaxation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> taking time to find joy in life and nurturing yourself<\/a> with Dr. LoBisco has completed her postdoctoral training as a certified functional medicine practitioner. She is also certified in Applied Kinesiology and holds a BA in psychology from SUNY Geneseo. She has contributed as an item writer for the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners (NABNE) and has several articles that have been published in the Naturopathic Doctor News and Review Digest (NDNR) and the Townsend Letter, both physician- based journals. Dr. LoBisco is also a hired speaker on integrative medical topics for medical professionals. Dr. LoBisco currently incorporates her training in holistic medical practices and conventional medicine through writing, researching, private practice, and through her independent contracting work for companies regarding supplements, nutraceuticals, essential oils, and medical foods.
