Winslow’s, a quaint restaurant nestled on route 9 between

Saratoga and Queensbury, is well known in the area for their take on the

American turkey dinner. Knowing this, of course I made a point to get out there

and give it a go.

First I chose to try the famous turkey and rice soup. The soup was

actually really good, not too robust in flavor but just enough to make the soup flavorful and enjoyable. I did find myself adding more salt to the soup, so maybe it could have used a little more sodium to kick it up a notch.

My mom and I decided to

share Winslow’s most known-for dish, the turkey dinner. After looking around and watching diners struggle to

finish their portions, sharing was definitely the right choice. The meal

came along with stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce.

The main focus being the turkey, it was pretty darn good. I know how often the anticipation is on Thanksgiving to taste moist and juicy turkey but often it gets dry or bland. Well I must say, Winslow’s does not have this problem. The turkey was cooked to perfection and it was made very clear why they are already getting booked up for Thanksgiving 2012.

My suggestion to Winslow’s would be to keep doing what

they’re

doing, because it’s obviously working for them. If you’re ever in the mood for a traditional, stick

to your

bones meal like a Thanksgiving dinner, I would absolutely suggest going to

Winslow’s. You’ll come out 5 pounds

heavier and satisfied for

sure.
