The Wilton Fire District recently dedicated
\nits new Station 2 building in Malta.<\/p>\n
The facility on Route 9 was designed by
\nC.T. Male Associates Engineering, Surveying,
\nArchitecture & Landscape Architecture,
\nPC.<\/p>\n
The district’s program objectives going
\ninto this project were to improve response
\ntime to calls and to improve the protection
\nof the residences and businesses on the east
\nside of town, officials said.<\/p>\n
The second station will allow firefighters to reach the fire station faster and save valuable time responding to calls from delays due to railroad crossings and crossing Interstate I-87.<\/p>\n
The fire station was designed by C.T. Male to accommodate the needs of the Wilton Fire District to meet the requirements for an essential facility, while fitting into the aesthetic character of the land uses in the vicinity, offering long-term value for this new state-of-the-art facility.<\/p>\n
As the architect, C.T. Male was responsible for the design of the new fire station, including structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering services, as well as construction administration, while working closely with the district’s construction manager.<\/p>\n
Site development services also included wetlands delineation for the permit to build within the 100-foot uplands area, installation of a new private well to provide a water supply to the building, stormwater management and all site improvements, C.T. Male officials said.<\/p>\n
Company officials also noted the importance of energy efficiency, and designed this 9,588-square-foot station to be constructed utilizing an energy efficient pre-engineered timber structure, as well as energy efficient lighting, heating and cooling systems. An energy performance incentive through New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) was also procured for this project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
