{"id":13622,"date":"2013-09-12T17:42:03","date_gmt":"2013-09-12T21:42:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/saratogabusinessjournal\/2013\/09\/caroline-street-pub-relaxed-atmosphere.html"},"modified":"2017-11-08T13:54:04","modified_gmt":"2017-11-08T18:54:04","slug":"caroline-street-pub-relaxed-atmosphere","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/saratogabusinessjournal\/2013\/09\/caroline-street-pub-relaxed-atmosphere\/","title":{"rendered":"Caroline Street Pub Offers More Viewing For Sports Fans In Relaxed Atmosphere"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"img-left\">\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"caroline-st-wm.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/saratogabusinessjournal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2013\/09\/caroline-st-wm.jpg\" class=\"alignleft\" height=\"222\" width=\"300\" \/>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"img-caption\">Daniel Drellos, left, Charlie Hoertkorn, center, and Brandon Drellos opened the Caroline Street Pub in Saratoga Springs, refurbishing the space and adding more TVs for sports fans\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>By Mark Genovese<\/p>\n<p>Patrons of the new Caroline Street Pub in<br \/>\nSaratoga Springs, which opened July 9 on<br \/>\nthe site of the former Bullpen, have, among<br \/>\nother things, ample opportunity to catch<br \/>\nthe action during football season.<\/p>\n<p>During five weeks of renovation, new<br \/>\nowners Charles Hoertkorn and Daniel<br \/>\nand Brandon Drellos sought to improve<br \/>\nthe socializing and dining experience for<br \/>\nclientele at the 9-11 Caroline St. location.<br \/>\nHoertkorn has several years experience<br \/>\nrunning other restaurants in Queensbury.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We knew that people like to come to<br \/>\npubs like ours to watch games,&#8221; Hoertkorn<br \/>\nsaid. &#8220;We already had four televisions here.<br \/>\nBut we knew that serious sports viewers<br \/>\nwant to keep track of several games at once,<br \/>\nno matter where they are in the pub. So we<br \/>\nincreased our number of screens to 15.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>During the football season, the pub will go one step further and add a 10-foot projection screen for fans&#8217; enjoyment. It will also offer a meal and drink package on game days.<\/p>\n<p>But sports fans aren&#8217;t the only audience the Caroline Street Pub seeks to serve. They also want to continue to appeal to local diners of every age, with some improvements in its food menu, as well as its beer and liquor offerings. The pub currently has 12 employees.<\/p>\n<p>The extensive facelift also included installing new lighting and fans, replacing the flooring, renovating the bathrooms, new felt for the pool table, and lots of painting and polishing.
