The Saratoga Convention & Tourism Bureau
\nrecently received the 2013 American Marketing
\nAssociation\/NY Capital Region Chapter’s
\nPeople’s Choice Award at the annual Mark of
\nExcellence Awards Dinner for the 15th anniversary
\ncampaign of Chowderfest.<\/p>\n

Saratoga’s Chowderfest, which had its 15th
\nanniversary in 2013, has grown tremendously
\nin the last four years from an estimated 8,500
\npeople attending, and 43 chowder participants
\nin downtown Saratoga Springs in 2009 to
\nover 25,000 people attending and 73 chowder
\nparticipants county-wide in 2013, bureau officials
\nsaid.<\/p>\n

“It’s fulfilled, and surpassed, its goal to bring
\nbusiness to Saratoga’s restaurants, bars, retailers
\nand hotels during a traditional shoulder
\nperiod,” said Todd Garofano, bureau president. <\/p>\n

The Saratoga Convention & Tourism Bureau has grown the event with the help and support of many partners, including; the city of Saratoga Springs, the Saratoga Springs City Center, the Saratoga Springs Visitors Center, several media partners, volunteers and more, he said.<\/p>\n

“We are certainly thrilled with this recognition”, said Garofano, president of the Saratoga Convention & Tourism Bureau. “This is truly a community event, one that continues to grow and get better each year. Our staff works tirelessly to organize Chowderfest but it takes the entire community working together to pull it off. We are truly appreciative of all of our partners and volunteers and we share this recognition with all of them.”<\/p>\n
