The Saratoga Convention & Tourism
\nBureau is bringing in a new event that
\nwill be the kick-off to Saratoga’s annual
\nWinterfest week.
\nThe bureau and Townsquare Lifestyle
\nEvents are combining to present the
\nSaratoga Frozen Springs Classic on January
\n24-26 at the Saratoga Spa State Park.<\/p>\n

At the center of the event is a round-robin
\nhockey tournament. The games — played
\n4-on-4 — will run through the weekend
\nand 60 teams are expected to participate,
\nofficials said.<\/p>\n

The event will begin Friday night at the
\nGideon Putnam Resort and Spa State Park
\nwith live entertainment and family fun.
\nGames will be played behind the Gideon
\nPutnam Hotel on pond rinks adjacent to
\nCatherine’s in the Park restaurant on Saturday
\nand Sunday.<\/p>\n

In addition to the hockey action, there will be food and beverage vendors, merchandise vendors and live entertainment.<\/p>\n

Also, downtown Saratoga Springs will play host to a variety of events at various bars and restaurants for hockey fans to enjoy on Friday and Saturday night. Labatt beer is the title sponsor.<\/p>\n

“We are thrilled to partner with Townsquare Lifestyle Events to create what will sure be a fun event for families and hockey fans alike,” said Todd Garofano, president of the Saratoga Convention & Tourism Bureau.<\/p>\n

“The backdrop of the Saratoga Spa State Park and the vibrancy of downtown Saratoga Springs will draw players, teams and families from throughout the Northeast for what we anticipate will be a sold-out event.”<\/p>\n

Events will be happening throughout Saratoga Springs and Saratoga County all week long, ending with the 16th Annual Chowderfest on Feb. 1 in downtown Saratoga Springs.<\/p>\n
