Americlean, an industrial and commercial
\ncleaning and painting contractor, has
\nexperienced steady growth in Tech Valley,
\nacross New york state and beyond for 27
\nyears, company officials said, and has
\nchanged its name.<\/p>\n

Now, “performance” does more than define
\nthe business, said company founder and
\nPresident Mark Miller. It’s part of its name.
\nAs the business celebrates its 28th anniversary,
\nit is now Performance Industrial,
\nstill headquartered on Harrison Avenue
\nextension in South Glens Falls.
\nAll other aspects of the business remain
\nthe same, including ownership and management.<\/p>\n

The new name was chosen to more
\naccurately convey the company’s position
\nas a leading provider of industrial and
\ncommercial cleaning and painting services,
\nMiller said.<\/p>\n

“We have achieved the success we have
\nbecause of our performance,” he said. “Performance
\nIndustrial perfectly sums up who
\nwe are. With our crews in the field and our
\nsupport team in the office, we work seamlessly
\nto deliver outstanding results. We’re
\nexcited to have a new name that more accurately
\ndefines the business we conduct
\nand those we serve.”<\/p>\n

Performance Industrial is not a janitorial
\nbusiness. Instead, it offers heavy-duty
\ncleaning and painting for industrial and
\ncommercial facilities and equipment; HVAC
\nduct cleaning and system maintenance;
\ncommercial kitchen hood and exhaust
\ncleaning; and sandblasting for a variety of
\nindustrial maintenance purposes.<\/p>\n

Miller said clients include some of the
\nlargest manufacturers, hospitals, colleges,
\ncasinos, grocery chains and banks in the
\nregion.<\/p>\n

Miller started his business in 1986 after
\ntiring of a career driving tractor trailers
\ncross-country. He invested in a single pressure
\nwashing unit and began cold-calling on
\nhomeowners and businesses near his home
\nin the Glens Falls area. Today, Performance
\nindustrial has 26 employees spread across
\nfive service divisions, a fleet of 12 vehicles,
\nmore than 30 pieces of equipment, and performs
\nbetween 800 and 1,000 jobs per year.
\nMiller said the company achieved record
\nsales in 2013.<\/p>\n

Performance Industrial also earned the
\nfederal Occupational Safety and Health
\nAdministration’s SHARP certification for
\nexemplary injury and illness prevention.
\n“Our goal is to make our clients’ jobs
\neasier,” said Miller. “We work tirelessly to
\nmaintain our certifications in fire prevention,
\nair quality maintenance and safety
\nprocedures for one reason only — we care.
\nThat’s what sets us apart.”<\/p>\n

Miller said the word “performance” has
\nreflects not only the quality and safety of
\nthe service provided, but also the parallels
\nhe sees between the business and a successful
\ntheatrical production. Miller compares
\nthe extensive preparatory work that takes
\nplace before each cleaning and painting
\njob — like assembling the right tools and
\nensuring the crew is properly trained — to
\nthe backstage activities of a show. Once on
\nthe job, he encourages his crews to view
\ntheir work like that of a Broadway cast.<\/p>\n

“When we’re at a customer’s location,
\nwe’re performing for that customer,” he
\nsaid. “From the professionalism of our
\npeople to the quality of the cleaning and
\npainting, we are totally prepared and dedicated
\nto making sure the customer enjoys
\nthe performance and invites us back.”<\/p>\n
