The New York Racing Association, Inc.
\nwill host a weekly celebration of global
\nculture and heritage with its inaugural International Heritage Series at Saratoga
\nRace Course during the 2014 summer meet.<\/p>\n
The day-long festive events will feature
\ntraditional music, dance, entertainment,
\ncrafts and food each Wednesday from 11
\na.m. to 4 p.m. in the Saratoga Pavilion located
\ninside the reserved seats box office
\nentrance. Musical and dance performances
\nwill also take place near the Saratoga
\nbandstand and gazebo throughout each
\nafternoon, officials said.<\/p>\n
The International Heritage Series lineup
\nwill include: Latino-American Day on July
\n23; Italian-American Day on July 30; Irish-American
\nDay on aug. 6; African-American
\nDay on aug. 13; and Asian-American Day on
\nAug. 20. The final installment of the series
\nwill celebrate the history and culture of
\nSaratoga Springs with Saratoga Heritage
\nDay on Aug. 27.<\/p>\n
“We look forward to welcoming first-time
\nfans and loyal guests to Saratoga to celebrate
\ntheir heritage and enjoy some of the
\nfinest thoroughbred racing in the world,”
\nsaid NYRA CEO and President Chris Kay.<\/p>\n
Fans will be encouraged to dress up
\ntheir picnic displays in the backyard with
\ncultural d\u00e9cor in correspondence with
\nthe weekly theme for the chance to win a
\nvariety of prizes.<\/p>\n
Named one of the top 10 sports venues in
\nthe nation by Sports Illustrated, Saratoga
\nRace Course has been the summer home
\nto champion thoroughbreds, renowned
\ntrainers, celebrated jockeys and famed
\nhorsemen for over 150 years.<\/p>\n
