Saratoga Pool & Tub Co. jumped into
\nthe local swimming pool market a little
\nslowly this season, its first. Like all local
\npool companies, the harsh winter and cool
\nspring was the cause.<\/p>\n

But as summer comes into full swing,
\nowner Jonathan Lerman and his staff of
\nabout 10 are busy. Field and service work
\n“has been relentless” with the advent of
\nbetter weather, he said.<\/p>\n

Working out of an office at 68 Weibel Ave.
\nin Saratoga Springs (near the golf driving
\nrange), Lerman opened the business in
\nApril. He’s been in the pool business since
\n1999, including work in Florida for a time.<\/p>\n

When Apple Pool went out of business,
\nhe purchased trucks and equipment from
\nits owner Gary Torrisi, who is a now a consultant
\nfor Saratoga Pool & Tub. Lerman
\nalso works with Apple’s customers, as well
\nas taking on new jobs.<\/p>\n

Saratoga Pool & Tub Co. is a full service
\npool company and installs in-ground pools,
\nabove-ground pools and gunite pools.
\nIt sells pool and spa chemicals, robotic
\nvacuums, motors and all kinds of parts for
\npool equipment.<\/p>\n

They do liner replacements and have a
\n20-year guarantee on the liners: full guarantee
\nfor five years and pro-rated for the
\nnext 15, he said.<\/p>\n

It has a shop to repair filter motor and
\nrobotic vacuums, as well as all the necessary
\nchemicals. Lerman said a lot of its
\nbusiness is opening and closing pools, doing
\nweekly maintenance and offering expert
\nadvice to customers.<\/p>\n

“I enjoy seeing people use their pools
\nand enjoy their pools without getting a
\nheadache” worrying about the details for
\nkeeping a pool clean and safe, he said.<\/p>\n

“Pools are about the kids and letting
\nthem enjoy it,” he noted. “We have a good
\nfamily store where people can come in
\nand get good advice so they can just enjoy
\ntheir pool.”<\/p>\n

When opening and closing pools, or doing
\nservice calls, Lerman said his staff takes a
\nlittle extra time to leave the pool as clean
\nas possible. Even at closing time, they remove
\nleaves they see so the owner doesn’t
\nhave to deal with them in the spring.<\/p>\n

\ndone at all times of the day, if need be, to
\nget the job completed correctly. The shop
\nis open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6
\np.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday
