April M. Dalbec, a shareholder in the law
\nfirm of McNamee, Lochner, Titus & Williams,
\nPC, which has an office in Clifton Park, was
\ninstalled in June as president of the Capital
\nDistrict Women’s Bar Association, (CDWBA).<\/p>\n
She becomes the 36th President of the
\nCapital District Chapter of the Women’s Bar
\nAssociation of New York State.
\nDalbec and six others took their oath of
\nservice as the chapters new executive board.<\/p>\n
Also sworn in were Linda Blom Johnson as
\npresident-elect, Rebekah Nellis Kennedy as
\nfirst vice president, Dana L. Salazar as second
\nvice president, Kathleen “Casey” Copps
\nDiPaola as treasurer, Lea Ermides Stevens
\nas recording secretary and Ricja Rice as
\ncorresponding secretary.<\/p>\n
Dalbec spoke of her ongoing involvement
\nwith the Association, the enriching relationships
\ndeveloped, and the impact it has had
\non her career. Her speech highlighted the
\nCDWBA mission to promote advancement
\nof Capital Region women, encouragement of
\nfair and impartial administration of justice,
\nproviding public service, and outlined goals
\nto further the mission.<\/p>\n
“We have a duty to promote women to
\nthe bench.” Dalbec stated. “One key issue
\nfor us, in the third judicial district, particularly,
\nis that the Supreme Court trial bench
\nlacks women and lacks diversity.” To that
\nend Dalbec announced that CDWBA would
\nbe co- hosting a CLE in the early fall titled
\n“Everything you need to know about becoming
\na judge.”<\/p>\n
Dalbec has been an active member of the
\nBar Association since 2002.<\/p>\n
Dalbec is an experienced civil and criminal
\nlitigator who has focused her practice
\non matrimonial law, family court matters,
\nplaintiff’s personal injury, complex criminal
\ndefense, and defending professionals in disciplinary
\nmatters. She has trial experience
\nincluding criminal matters, negotiation,
\nmediation and settlement of substantial
