T-Shirt Graphics in Ballston Spa turns 30
\nthis year.
\nThe company screen prints and embroiders
\nT-shirts and just about any other item of clothing
\nin lots from a dozen to 3,000. Recently, they also entered in to the business of making
\ncustom banners.<\/p>\n

Dennis Albright owns the business with his
\nwife, Eileen. The business was originally for
\noffset printing. But Albright said he was looking
\nfor something more in the arts end of the
\nprinting business when he had the opportunity
\nbuy some screen printing equipment. The
\ntransition was made.
\nToday, 10 employees, two of them part time,
\nwork at the company.<\/p>\n

Albright said the business serves mainly
\ncorporate clients that are looking for staff
\nshirts, or items to commemorate anniversaries
\nand other special events. They also outfit
\nathletic teams.<\/p>\n

However, they can also produce a dozen Tshirts
\nor hats for a party or family reunion. In
\naddition, they offer a line of items promoting
\nBallston Spa.<\/p>\n

A big change Albright has seen during his
\nyears in the printing industry is a strong push
\nto improve safety and reduce adverse environmental
\nimpacts. Materials, he said, “are
\npretty much on the safe side,” with non-phalate
\ninks and waste that is either biodegradable or can be returned to the manufacture for safe
\ndisposal.<\/p>\n

“The industry has been very proactive” on matters of environmental safety, he said.
\nThe company also offers a new line of “green”
\ngarments.<\/p>\n

Customers can design their own garments,
\nusing software on the company’s website, tshirtgraphics.
\ncom, or use their own software.
\nThey can also utilize the facilities of the company’s
\nT-shirt graphics art department.<\/p>\n

Two automated high-speed presses can
\nprint 500 to 600 shirts an hour in eight to 10
\ncolors of ink, said Albright. The embroidering
\nmachine has 12 heads that can all go at once.<\/p>\n

All the manufacturing, as well as sales, is
\ndone at T-Shirt Graphics’s 8,300-square-foot
\nfacility at 12 Grove St., Ballston Spa. The factory
\nis in a former railroad depot, a building
\nmore than 100 years old and built to handle
\nheavy equipment.<\/p>\n

The company carries adult sizes from small
\nto XXXL and children’s sizes from extra-small
\nto large from a variety of manufacturers.
\nAlbright said most jobs take two weeks
\nbut “rush” orders can be accommodated. The
\ncompany has an online catalog or, if customers
\nprefer paper, they can pick up a catalog at
\nT-Shirt Graphics.<\/p>\n

T-Shirt Graphics is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday
\nto Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays.
