The Healthy Living Market in the
\nWilton Mall hired a local eco-friendly
\nlandscape designer Jesse Elwert Peters of
\nJessecology to renovate the landscaping
\noutside the store. An organic edible garden
\nwas planted that includes many perennials
\nindigenous to New York state, which cumulatively
\nforms a new habitat for Monarch
\nbutterflies to use during migration and
\nbreeding seasons.<\/p>\n
The gardens are located in the mall parking
\nlot and the site has been registered as
\na certified Monarch waystation with the
\nnational organization Monarch Watch. A
\ncertified habitat placard issued by Monarch
\nWatch will be displayed in one of the
\nmall island beds to demonstrate the urban
\nhabitat at Healthy Living’s connected part
\nto all of the Monarch habitat on their annual
