Residents of the Springs, an apartment
\ndevelopment on Weibel Avenue in Saratoga
\nSprings, will soon be able to have pizza delivered
\nto the door quickly from the BWP Local
\nGrille, which is located right on site of the
\napartment complex.<\/p>\n

The restaurant and bar is operated by Tim
\nand Colleen Holmes, owners of the Wheatfields
\nrestaurants in Saratoga Springs and
\nClifton Park.
\nThe Springs, when complete, will combine
\n300 residential units with commercial space.<\/p>\n

The Grille, expected to open by the end of
\nSeptember, will offer craft beers, boutique
\nwines, New York distilled spirits, and an
\nAmerican menu featuring pizza baked in a
\n900 degree wood-fired oven. An open kitchen
\nwill surround the fireplace.<\/p>\n

Tim Holmes envisions a neighborhood bar
\nand grille, catering to residents of The Springs
\nand people from a radius of about five miles.
\nThe new establishment will seat between
\n50 and 80 people inside and another 30 or so
\non a patio with fire pit.<\/p>\n

“It’s a different concept for us,” he said, in
\ncomparison to the Wheatfields eateries.
\nThey will serve lunch and dinner and offer
\ntake-out but pizza will be the featured
\nfood item. In fact, the restaurant’s website
\nis beerwinepizza.com. The bar will offer 13
\ndraft beers, including local and craft beers;
\nwine, mostly from small-batch producers;
\nand “small American spirits” from New York
\nstate distilleries.<\/p>\n

Bonacio Construction, developer of The
\nSprings, did the build-out for the Grille. M&T
\nBank provided financing.<\/p>\n

The Holmeses will be tenants, occupying 3,800 square feet.
\nSo far, neighboring commercial establishments
\ninclude a dry cleaner, nail salon, day
\ncare center, martial arts school, and a barber
\nshop.<\/p>\n

Tim and Colleen Holmes will manage the
\nnew location as well as both Wheatfields locations.
\nJeff Taylor, who has been with the company
\nfor five years, will be general manager of
\nthe new location. Michael Kiernan, executive
\nchef for all of the restaurants, is developing
\nthe menu. David Deniro will have charge of
\nthe pizza oven.<\/p>\n

Wheatfields Restaurant and Bar has been
\non Broadway in Saratoga Springs for 10 and a
\nhalf years–“eleven track seasons,” according
\nto Tim Holmes. They opened the Wheatfields
\nBistro and Wine Bar in Clifton Park five years
