\nmerged and operate under the name Ryan
\nBiggs Clark Davis Engineering & Surveying
\nPC.<\/p>\n
Company officials said it is now one of the
\nlargest women-owned engineering firms in Upstate
\nNew York, providing structural engineering;
\ncivil engineering; repair and restoration;
\nconstruction support, inspection, and testing;
\nand surveying services.<\/p>\n
With a combined total of nearly 70 years of
\nprofessional engineering practice, Ryan Biggs
\nClark Davis maintains a staff of 40, including
\n20 licensed engineers, in three offices in New
\nYork state.<\/p>\n
Originally founded by Tom Ryan as J. Thomas
\nRyan Engineering in 1973 and later joined
\nby David Biggs in 1978, Ryan-Biggs Associates
\ncalled River Street in Troy its home until 2010
\nwhen the corporate headquarters moved to
\nClifton Park. In 2000, Ryan-Biggs started an office
\nin the Finger Lakes Region (Skaneateles)
\nto service Central New York clients.<\/p>\n
Over the last four decades, Ryan-Biggs
\nhas provided structural engineering services
\nacross New York state. The firm has designed,
\npreserved, and rehabilitated many Capital
\nRegion structures including: Proctor’s Theatre,
\nRensselaer Rail Station, Albany Medical
\nCenter’s Patient Pavilion, Cathedral of the
\nImmaculate Conception, Restoration New
\nYork State Education Building, New York
\nState Police Troop G headquarters, St. Peter’s
\nHospital Hearst Pavilion, RPI’s Biotechnology
\n& Interdisciplinary Studies Building, and
\nHudson Valley Community College’s Science
\nCenter.<\/p>\n
Ryan-Biggs has provided the structural
\ndesign for thousands of K-12 schools, religious
\nfacilities, hospitals, cultural facilities, libraries,
\nindustrial facilities, colleges and universities,
\nand highway and historic bridges. The firm
\noften collaborates with architects, contractors,
\nengineers, municipalities, private and
\ncommercial owners, and government agencies.<\/p>\n
Clark Engineering was founded in 1986 by
\nDouglas and Ann Clark in Columbia County
\nto provide civil engineering to the smaller
\nmunicipalities in the region. The firm’s focus
\nwas on bringing innovative and cost-effective
\nsolutions to its clients, with many projects
\nbeing the first of their kind permitted by New
\nYork state regulatory agencies.<\/p>\n
The firm has provided site and structural
\nengineering and land surveying services on
\nprojects of all sizes for a diverse client base,
\nincluding numerous government agencies and
\nmunicipalities.<\/p>\n
With the merger also comes changes in the
\nboard of directors. Paul A. Rouis III, PE, was
\nnamed CEO; Jamie L. Davis, PE, LEED AP, is
\npresident; Ann Clark, PE, is a vice president,
