With 10 massage therapists on staff, Elements
\nMassage in Clifton Park welcomes
\nwalk-ins as well as people with appointments.<\/p>\n

The studio has been very busy since it
\nopened only weeks ago, so an appointment
\nis advisable.
\nIt is located at 5 Southside Drive at the
\nShops at Village Plaza.<\/p>\n

Elements Massage is a franchise and the
\nnew Clifton Park site is the first in Upstate
\nNew York, said Beth Godsil, who co-owns
\nthe business with her husband Rob Hanks.
\nThere are some 180 Elements Massage
\nfranchises in the United States.<\/p>\n

The massage therapists offer a variety
\nof massage types, including Swedish, trigger
\npoint, deep tissue, prenatal and hotstone.
\nAll of the therapists have New York
\nstate licenses and more than half of them
\ntrained at the Center for Natural Wellness
\nin Albany.<\/p>\n

Godsil said most of the therapists work
\npart time, between 10 and 25 hours a week.
\nThey are employees of the business, with
\nElements providing tools and supplies,
\ndoing their marketing and providing quarterly
\neducation programs to keep them
\nup-to-date on latest trends or changes.
\nThere are six massage rooms, which owner Godsil described as “very calm and
\ncomforting.”<\/p>\n

Three weeks into the business, Godsil
\nreported there are 65 members of the
\nwellness program. Members are entitled
\nto regular services at a discounted price.
\nShe estimated that more than 200 massage
\nsessions had been completed in the
\nfirst three weeks the business was open.<\/p>\n

She attributed the early surge to the fact
\nthat the business sign went up several
\nweeks before it opened, whetting curiosity,
\nand to a postcard campaign just before
\nthe shop opened. In addition, they offer
\na special introductory rate of $49 for a
\n55-minute massage.<\/p>\n

Godsil’s background is in retail sales
\nand human resources. Most recently, she
\nworked for Verizon in Nashville Tenn. She
\nand her husband moved to the area from
\nNashville, but both of them are from upstate
\nNew York.<\/p>\n

When her husband took a position in
\nMalta, “it kind of brought us home,” she
\nsaid. They looked at several business opportunities
\nbut the Elements franchise
\n“spoke to us the most,” she said.<\/p>\n

Elements Massage is open seven days a
\nweek, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday
\nand 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays. The telephone
