Saratoga Hospital announced it has received
\n$4.6 million in leadership gifts during
\nthe first phase of its Campaign for Surgical and
\nIntensive Care Services.<\/p>\n

The three-year, $8-million campaign will
\nhelp fund construction of a new surgical pavilion
\nand intensive care unit.<\/p>\n

Leadership gifts include:<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 A $2.8 million gift of real estate from Nancy
\nand Gary DiCresce to support the Gary and
\nNancy DiCresce Surgical Center on the second
\nfloor of the new Surgical Pavilion.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 $1 million from Stewart’s Shops and the
\nDake family to support the new Stewart’s and
\nThe Dake Family Surgical Registration and
\nWaiting Area on the first floor of the pavilion.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 $300,000 from the Saratoga Hospital
\nVolunteer Guild to support the Saratoga Hospital
\nVolunteer Guild ICU Family and Visitor
\nLounge.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 $250,000 from Campaign Chair Frank
\nMessa and his wife, Colleen, for the Frank and
\nColleen Messa Lobby on the first floor of the
\nSurgical Pavilion.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 $250,000 from Jeff Pintuff, in memory of
\nhis wife, to support the Christine Pintuff ICU
\nStaff Lounge. Christine died in 2011, months
\nafter retiring from her job as a Saratoga Hospital
\nnurse.<\/p>\n

“Once again, members of our community have stepped forward–with extraordinary
\ngenerosity, vision, and leadership–to help
\nus continue to provide advanced, high-quality
\ncare right here in Saratoga,” said Angelo Calbone,
\nSaratoga Hospital president and CEO.<\/p>\n

“These significant early gifts reflect our donors’
\nlove for Saratoga and their appreciation of
\nSaratoga Hospital’s singular role in maintaining
\nthe health of our region.”<\/p>\n

The gifts support one of the most significant
\nexpansions in Saratoga Hospital’s history: a
\n$33 million renovation to meet the need for
\nincreased surgical capacity; larger, state-ofthe-
\nart operating suites; and a more private,
\npatient- and family-centered ICU.<\/p>\n

“From a service and talent perspective,
\nSaratoga Hospital has evolved into a worldclass
\ninstitution,” Messa said. “But the facilities
\nare in need of expansion and modernization.
\nWe’re raising money for operating suites
\nand an ICU for an organization that’s dedicated
\nto saving lives and helping families,” he added.
\n“I can’t think of anything more important.”<\/p>\n

Saratoga Hospital Foundation is the philanthropic
\narm of Saratoga Hospital. It secures,
\nmanages and distributes charitable gifts to
\nsupport the mission of Saratoga Hospital and
\nits affiliates. Over the years, the foundation
\nhas raised more than $40 million for programs
\nand facilities.<\/p>\n
