She received an MBA<br \/>\nfrom Sage College, but felt unsatisfied with her<br \/>\ncareer path. &#8220;It seemed like I was happiest when I was<br \/>\nworking with clients in the nail salon,&#8221; she said.<br \/>\n&#8220;So I decided to quit my 9-5 corporate job and<br \/>\nstart my own business.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The salon focuses on nail treatments, including<br \/>\nnail enhancements, manicures and<br \/>\npedicures. Nguyen offers acrylics, gels, as well<br \/>\nas ANC (Amazing Nail Concepts). ANC is an<br \/>\nalternative to acrylic nails, known for its durability<br \/>\nand strength.<\/p>\n<p>Customers can also receive waxing treatments<br \/>\nat House of Polish. Nguyen does eyebrow,<br \/>\nlip and chin waxing procedures.<br \/>\nIn the near future, the salon will be adding<br \/>\nmassages to their services, she said.<\/p>\n<p>Nguyen has spent years in the spa industry,<br \/>\nlistening to clients. She used the knowledge<br \/>\nto help build House of Polish Nails and Spa.<br \/>\nThe large and spacious salon is decorated in<br \/>\nneutral tones that help provide a warm, calming<br \/>\nenvironment.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s not a quick in and out [here],&#8221; Nguyen<br \/>\nsaid. She wants her clients to come in and have<br \/>\na relaxing, spa-like experience.<\/p>\n<p>Nguyen is excited to have her business in<br \/>\nthe Ellsworth Commons. She believes it is a<br \/>\nmore upscale location. She hopes that the other<br \/>\nbusinesses within the Commons will help bring traffic to the salon.<\/p>\n<p>House of Polish hosted their Open House<br \/>\non November 17. The business celebrated with<br \/>\nlight refreshments, and many family and friends<br \/>\njoined the festivities. &#8220;It was a really good turnout&#8221;<br \/>\nsaid Nguyen.<\/p>\n<p>Nguyen is offering a 20 percent discount to all first-time clients.<\/p>\n<p>House of Polish is open Monday and Tuesday,<br \/>\n10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday through Friday, 9<br \/>\na.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is<br \/>\nopen Sundays by appointment only.
