Norfolk Southern and the Delaware &
\nHudson Railway (D&H), a subsidiary of
\nCanadian Pacific, is in negotiations to acquire
\n282.55 miles of D&H rail line between Sunbury,
\nPa., and Schenectady.<\/p>\n
As part of the transaction, NS would retain
\nand modify overhead trackage rights on the
\nline between Schenectady, Crescent and
\nMechanicville, and Saratoga Springs. D&H
\nwould retain local access to serve customers in
\nSchenectady and would maintain its access to
\nshippers in Buffalo.<\/p>\n
The $217-million is subject to the approval by
