{"id":16247,"date":"2015-02-05T18:43:16","date_gmt":"2015-02-05T23:43:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/saratogabusinessjournal\/2015\/02\/saratoga-builders-association-commits-1000-to-scholarship-for-local-students.html"},"modified":"2015-02-05T18:43:16","modified_gmt":"2015-02-05T23:43:16","slug":"saratoga-builders-association-commits-1000-to-scholarship-for-local-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/saratogabusinessjournal\/2015\/02\/saratoga-builders-association-commits-1000-to-scholarship-for-local-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Saratoga Builders Association Commits $1,000 To Scholarship For Local Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> The Saratoga Builders Association Inc. announced<br \/>\ncontinued monetary commitment to<br \/>\neducation with the awarding a $1,000 student<br \/>\nscholarship in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The organization makes this scholarship<br \/>\navailable annually to high school seniors who<br \/>\nare planning to pursue a construction industry<br \/>\neducation.<\/p>\n<p>It is open to any high school senior in<br \/>\nSaratoga County who is planning to pursue<br \/>\nconstruction education at a two- or four-year<br \/>\naccredited college or university or to students<br \/>\nwho would like to purchase tools for employment<br \/>\nin construction.<\/p>\n<p>Students must have a grade point average A<br \/>\nof 3.0 or higher. They must demonstrate current<br \/>\nor past involvement in the construction field,<br \/>\nincluding classes taken in high school, to be<br \/>\neligible for this award.<\/p>\n<p>Each applicant must also submit a high<br \/>\nschool transcript or list of construction classes<br \/>\ntaken plus a short essay describing why they are<br \/>\ninterested in a construction industry career and<br \/>\nwhat events led to this decision.<\/p>\n<p>Applications must be postmarked on or before<br \/>\nApril 1.
