\nDistinction Center designation for bariatric
\nsurgery, as part of the Blue Distinction Centers
\nfor Specialty Care program.<\/p>\n
Blue Distinction Centers are nationally
\ndesignated healthcare facilities shown to
\ndeliver quality specialty care, based on
\nobjective measures that were developed
\nwith input from the medical community, for
\npatient safety and better health outcomes.<\/p>\n
To receive a Blue Distinction Center for
\nBariatric Surgery designation, a healthcare
\nfacility must demonstrate success in meeting
\npatient safety as well as bariatric-specific
\nquality measures, including complications
\nand readmissions, for gastric stapling and\/
\nor gastric banding procedures. A healthcare
\nfacility must also have earned national accreditations
\nat both the facility level and the
