CAP COM a Colonie-based federal credit union,
\nis planning to open a branch in Malta.
\n“We’ve been looking to branch out into this area
\nfor some time and it’s finally coming to fruition,”
\nsaid Robert Roemer, vice president of innovation
\nand project management at CAP COM.<\/p>\n
“We have a significant amount of membership
\nin Malta and the Saratoga County area. We want
\nto provide this convenience by moving into the
\narea,” said Roemer.<\/p>\n
The management at CAP COM sees Malta as
\na good area for expansion due to its growth in
\nrecent years.<\/p>\n
The site of the new CAP COM location will be
\n2439 Route 9, near the Price Chopper and Dunkin
\nDonuts. The facility will be 3,400 square feet.
\nConstruction is expected to begin this summer,
\nsaid Roemer. The target for completion is
\nearly 2016.<\/p>\n
CAP COM Federal Credit Union offers a full
\nsuite of services, including checking and saving
\naccounts, online banking, mortgages, insurance,
\ncredit cards, and other services.<\/p>\n
There are several ways to become a member
\nof CAP COM. Individuals who live, work or attend
\nschool in the cities of Albany, Cohoes, Green
\nIsland, Mechanicville, Rensselaer, Schenectady,
\nTroy and Watervliet can join. Employees of more
\nthan 700 companies can join. Family members of
\nexisting members can join as well.<\/p>\n
The credit union is also involved in the community,
\nthrough the CAP COM Cares Foundation.
\n“We are a truly local company, with our
\nheadquarters here in Colonie,” said Roemer. “We
\ntake pride that we can serve members of this
\ncommunity.”<\/p>\n
