Andrew Cuomo appointed <strong>Anthony<br \/>\nJ. Bonomo<\/strong> as the new board chairman of<br \/>\nthe New York Racing Association.<\/p>\n<p>The position had been vacant since<br \/>\nDecember, when David Skorton stepped<br \/>\ndown to become the new secretary of the<br \/>\nSmithsonian.<\/p>\n<p>Bonomo is chief executive of Administrators<br \/>\nfor the Professions, which operates Physicians&#8217;<br \/>\nReciprocal Insurers, an insurance<br \/>\ncompany for medical professionals.<\/p>\n<p>In 2010, he was appointed to the NYRA<br \/>\nboard by the state Senate.
