A local energy consulting firm is scaling
\nup to meet the needs of its growing business,
\nmunicipal, and nonprofit customer base.
\nGordon Boyd and Gene Salerni, both founding
\npartners of EnergyNext Inc. in Saratoga
\nSprings, announced a strategic partnership
\nwith Satori Energy, based in Chicago.<\/p>\n
They said the move helps assure that new
\ngroup-buying programs and choices are available,
\nespecially in renewable energy and community
\nchoice.<\/p>\n
“Satori Energy will be bringing its robust
\nback-office assets to support, enhance and
\ncontinue to create value for all EnergyNext,
\nInc. clients and customers,” said Boyd.<\/p>\n
“This partnership will allow EnergyNext
\nclients to realize additional energy savings for
\nthe various businesses, chambers of commerce,
\ntrade associations, and municipalities we serve,
\nutilizing Satori’s industry-leading procurement
\nprocesses and internal systems,” Salerni added.<\/p>\n
Anna Baluyot, executive vice president at
\nSatori, noted, “We look forward to combining
\nSatori’s strengths with the tremendous business
\nwhich Gordon and Gene have built over
\nthe past decades. Our skill sets complement
\neach other very well and our goals are aligned
\nin designing the best possible customer experience.”<\/p>\n
Boyd said new initiatives from the Public
\nService Commission promise added choices
\nfor New York consumers, “especially where
\nrenewable energy, community-based procurements,
\nand enhanced reliability are concerned.
\nThis partnership will give our customers the
\nmost timely and expert responses to these new
\ndevelopments, as well as enhanced commodity
\nprocurement for electricity and natural gas.”<\/p>\n
Satori Energy (www.satorienergy.com) was
\nfounded in 2003, is headquartered in Chicago,
\nand has evolved with the changing electricity
\nmarkets over the past 12 years, company officials
\nsaid. It serves over 48,000 accounts. Its
\nmission is to serve clients through strategic
\nenergy procurement, risk management, market
\nmonitoring services, and overall energy management
\nsolutions for clients in deregulated
\nmarkets nationwide.<\/p>\n
Satori President David C. Wiers has participated
\nin many deregulated markets from their
\ninception,and has shared his expertise at many
\nconferences and forums, advocating electric ity deregulation and representing third-party
\naggregators, brokers and consultants (ABC)
\nchannels. Based in Chicago,
\nWiers is also a founding member and initial
\nPresident of the Texas Energy Professionals
\nAssociation. In 2007, he founded the Illinois
\nEnergy Professionals Association, similar to
\nthe Texas organization. Wiers has a B.A. degree
\nfrom Carthage College.<\/p>\n
Baluyot has over 20 years of extensive experience
\nin the energy industry. This background
\nconstitutes broad knowledge ranging from
\nutility engineering and operations and wholesale
\nenergy trading, to energy efficiency and
\ndemand response solutions for end-use clients.<\/p>\n
In her past role as an alternative energy
\nsupplier, Baluyot structured and negotiated
\ncommodity products and renewable bundled
\noptions to the governmental, industrial, and
\ninstitutional sectors. Additionally, She has
\nexperience in the electricity aggregation
\nbusiness, successfully creating value for 40
\ncommunities in Illinois. She holds a B.S. from
\nLoyola University of Chicago, and an MPA from
\nIndiana University.<\/p>\n
EnergyNext, Inc. has managed group energybuying
\nprograms since the inception of deregulation
\nin the mid-1990s. Its clients include more
\nthan a dozen Chambers of Commerce, trade
\nassociations and the Municipal Electric and
\nGas Alliance. Through the groups, EnergyNext
\nprocures electricity and natural gas supplies,
\nplus renewable energy, for more than 1,500
\ncustomers with total annual energy spending
\nof more than $100 million.<\/p>\n
Boyd has employed a background as a strategic
\nplanner to identify leading opportunities
\nin the energy marketplace for the firm’s clients.<\/p>\n
He serves on the board of the Northeast U.S.
\nchapter of the Energy Professionals Association.
\nHe previously worked in state government
\nand has served on a number of statewide and
\nlocal boards, including as environment chair
\nof the New York Chamber of Commerce and
\nIndustry. He received an A.B. degree from
\nHamilton College.<\/p>\n
Gene Salerni has a technical and research
\nbackground, assisting clients in pricing and
\nenergy management decisions. He also served
\nas Research Director for a joint commission
\nof the State Legislature and has a Ph.D. from
