PeroxyChem will begin construction on
\nits hydrogen peroxide purification plant
\nthis summer in the Grande Industrial Park
\nin Saratoga Springs.
\nCompany officials said the Saratoga
\nSpring location was chosen in response
\nto the needs of GlobalFoundries, to which
\nPeroxyChem is a product supplier.<\/p>\n
The factory is designed to support the Fab
\n8 chip plant in Malta, where the computer
\nchip manufacturer uses hydrogen peroxide
\nto clean and remove impurities during
\nproduction.<\/p>\n
The new facility will become Peroxy-
\nChem’s second hydrogen peroxide purification
\nfacility in the U.S. and third worldwide,
\naccording to the company’s Global Business
\nDirector Stephanie Montag.<\/p>\n
PeroxyChem’s factory will create 10 managerial,
\nlaboratory and chemical manufacturing
\njobs, she said.<\/p>\n
Montag said construction will begin this
\nspring and should be completed in early
\n2016.
\n“We will have a ground breaking ceremony some time during mid-May to officially mark
\nthe beginning of construction,” said Montag.<\/p>\n
Proximity to GlobalFoundries was a major
\ncomponent in deciding such a facility was
\nneeded by GlobalFoundries. The Saratoga
\nSprings facility will allow for a safe and reliable
\nsupply of the product while allowing
\nPeroxyChem to better serve customers, according
\nto Montag, global business director,
\nhydrogen peroxide for PeroxyChem.<\/p>\n
The entire cost of the project is not yet
\nbeing disclosed by the company, however,
\nPeroxyChem was awarded nearly $894,000
\nin tax breaks over eight years from the
\nSaratoga County Industrial Development
\nAgency.<\/p>\n
“We would look forward to becoming a
\npart of the area’s business community,” said
\nMontag.<\/p>\n
PeroxyChem employs approximately 600
\npeople throughout the world, with facilities
\nin North America, Europe and Asia. They
\nspecialize in customizing chemistries for
\nelectronics, energy, environmental, food
\nsafety, pulp, paper, polymer, and other industrial
