{"id":16802,"date":"2015-05-07T13:09:47","date_gmt":"2015-05-07T17:09:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/saratogabusinessjournal\/2015\/05\/local-boces-partners-with-bryant-stratton-to-offer-certifications-in-two-health-fields.html"},"modified":"2015-05-07T13:09:47","modified_gmt":"2015-05-07T17:09:47","slug":"local-boces-partners-with-bryant-stratton-to-offer-certifications-in-two-health-fields","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/saratogabusinessjournal\/2015\/05\/local-boces-partners-with-bryant-stratton-to-offer-certifications-in-two-health-fields\/","title":{"rendered":"Local BOCES Partners With Bryant Stratton To Offer Certifications In Two Health Fields"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> The Adult Continuing Education program<br \/>\nof the Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-<br \/>\nEssex BOCES has partnered with Bryant<br \/>\n&amp; Stratton College to offer a new program<br \/>\nin April that provides students with the opportunity<br \/>\nto earn a national certification as<br \/>\na phlebotomist and an electrocardiogram<br \/>\n(EKG) technician.<\/p>\n<p>The program incorporates three courses,<br \/>\npreparing students for two National Healthcareer<br \/>\nAssociation (NHA) exams.<\/p>\n<p>The three courses are:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A clinical foundation course (72 hours).<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Fundamentals of phlebotomy (85 hours)<br \/>\nalong with a clinical internship (40 to 120<br \/>\nhours)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Electrocardiogram training (72 hours)<br \/>\nand a clinical internship (eight to 36 hours)<\/p>\n<p>Students who successfully complete the certified phlebotomy technician program are<br \/>\neligible for a $1000 discount on the certified<br \/>\nEKG technician course. Offer expires one year<br \/>\nafter completion of the certified phlebotomy<br \/>\ntechnician course.<\/p>\n<p>All courses will take place at Bryant &amp;<br \/>\nStratton College&#8217;s Professional Skills Center<br \/>\nat 2452 Route 9, Malta.<\/p>\n<p>The certified phlebotomy technician course<br \/>\nis offered from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday,<br \/>\nWednesday and Friday from June 22 to August<br \/>\n17 and in the Monday and Wednesday evenings<br \/>\nfrom 6 to 9 p.m. from July 20 to Oct. 28.<\/p>\n<p>Visit WSWHE BOCES website at www.wswheboces.org for more details.<br \/>\nContact Cathy Goodwin at 581-3523 or<br \/>\nLinda Ernst at 581-3555 at the F.
