The second Saratoga Balloon and Craft
\nFestival is scheduled for June 19-21 at the
\nSaratoga Fairgrounds in Ballston Spa.<\/p>\n

It is organized by Craftproducers of
\nCharlotte, Vt., which moved the festival to
\nSaratoga last year because it outgrew its
\nformer location at the Shelburne Museum
\nin Vermont. Balloonmeister Todd Monahan
\nof Glens Falls is enthusiastic about the new
\nlocation.<\/p>\n

Besides the launching of hot air balloons
\nin the early morning and evenings, there
\nwill be a Balloon Glow event on Friday and
\nSaturday evenings at dusk on June 19 and
\n20. At the event, the balloons will be inflated
\nand the propane burners create a colorful
\nillumination.
\nThey also said balloon events are weather
\npermitting, and people can get updates that
\nweekend on the event’s Facebook page.<\/p>\n

The festival will open to the public from
\nnoon on Friday. The first actual launch will
\nbe early Friday evening. There will be 125
\nartists, artisans, and specialty food makers,
\nfrom hand-thrown pottery to fine silver and
\ngold jewelry to contemporary furniture will
\ndisplay and sell original works.<\/p>\n

The balloons will take off early in the
\nmorning all Saturday and Sunday, starting
\naround 5:30 a.m. They will go up early
\nevening on Saturday as well.<\/p>\n

Organizers say they have added more
\nfood vendors. Their menu includes fresh
\ncut French fries, sausage sandwich, Middle
\nEastern food, steak sandwiches, chicken
\nwraps, Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, hot dogs,
\nmeat ball sub, sliders, coffee, espresso,
\nwood oven pizza, funnel cakes and fried
\ndough, Greek salad, chili, smoothies, hamburgers,
\nand more.<\/p>\n

Attendees can also book flights on some
\nof the balloons.<\/p>\n

There will be a Kids Zone for the children
\nwith a “make and take” craft section, face
\npainting, a walk-about-balloon, comic juggling,
\nand more. For the adults, there will
\nbe music on a main stage.
\nThere will be an array of craft beers
\nserved along with New York state cheeses.<\/p>\n

Festival hours are Friday, noon to 10 p.m.;
\nSaturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, 11
\na.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n

Adult admission is $10 daily or $15 for the
\nweekend. Children 3-15 is $5 daily and $5
\nfor the weekend. Under 3, children are free.
