A woman who was once a lawyer, life coach–
\neven a boxing promoter– is starting her own
\nbusiness, making and distributing tequila.
\nLisa Elovich is the owner and president of One
\nWith Life Tequila, or O.W.L. Tequila, which will
\nofficially launch in Saratoga Springs in mid-July.<\/p>\n

Elovich has successfully traveled other career
\nroads, and was inspired to start the company
\nbecause of a desire to live a mindful and peaceful
\nlife, she said.<\/p>\n

“As a mother, a lawyer, a state worker, life
\ncoach and entrepreneur, it’s hard to strike a balance
\nbetween work and life,” said Elovich. “I was
\na boxing promoter for seven years and loved the
\nexcitement of that profession. Tequila has always
\nbeen associated with something positive. It lends
\nitself to the balance and sense of adventure I
\ncrave in my life. It can be good for your health too.”<\/p>\n

Elovich cited several health benefits to moderate
\ntequila consumption, including aiding in
\ndigestion, lowering blood sugar and boosting the
\nimmune system.<\/p>\n

Elovich had the idea for One With Life about a
\nyear ago, and started taking steps toward turning
\nthe idea into a reality eight months ago. Through
\nresearch and visits, she found contacts in Mexico.<\/p>\n

She developed a partnership with a distillery in
\nMexico. In America, Elovich is working with the
\nsame team of professionals she worked with in
\nher boxing promotion days.<\/p>\n

“Tequila is a lot like boxing,” she said. “The
\npeople who are into it are really into it. It’s a
\nsmall, intelligent, passionate crowd. There is
\nmystique and adventure to tequila, just like there
\nis to boxing.”<\/p>\n

Elovich has found support to be plentiful.
\n“First I talked to friends and family. Then I
\nstarted talking to people throughout the community–
\nbartenders and restaurant owners primarily–
\nand there was a strong sense of encouragement
\nand excitement.” she said. “I conducted
\nfocus groups among friends and acquaintances,
\nand launched a Facebook Tequila Group–my
\n‘tequila friends’. They are my surrogate brand ambassadors and have contributed many ideas
\nto the brand and business.”<\/p>\n

One With Life Tequila will be sold with an inspirational
\nquote inside each bottle. Each six-bottle
\ncase will come with a piece of jewelry that can be
\nworn as a bracelet or anklet, featuring the company
\nname and logo of an owl in the tree of life.<\/p>\n

Elovich placed high importance on the spiritual
\nconnotations with the One With Life brand.
\n“I gained a lot of the spiritual context for the
\nOne With Life brand through spiritual readings
\non making inner peace our number one priority.
\nThat’s why our slogan is ’99 percent peaceful,
\n1 percent wild’. The entire tequila concept is a
\nvessel for spreading a positive message of peace
\nwith self and peace with the moment.”<\/p>\n

The brand’s logo, an owl perched in a flowing
\ntree, is heavy with symbolism. “The Tree of Life
\nrepresents eternity and connectedness. The owl
\nrepresents peacefulness, courage and wisdom,”
\nsaid Elovich.<\/p>\n

“Our tequila is better than any tequila you will
\never taste. It’s mild and smooth, with no big burn.
\nYou don’t have to force it down as a shot or dress
\nit up to disguise the taste. You can make it into a
\ncocktail if you want, but it’s pleasant enough to
\ndrink alone,” she said.<\/p>\n

Tequila is derived from the agave plant and
\nmust be distilled in Mexico to be considered
\nauthentic tequila. One With Life has partnered
\nwith Tequila Las Americas in Jalisco, Mexico.
\nElovich commutes to the location twice a year
\nfor bottling and quality control, which includes
\ntasting a sample from every batch of tequila. The
\ntequila is certified organic.<\/p>\n

With several teaser tequila tastings occurring
\nin June and July, the official launch party of One
\nWith Life Tequila will happen at 6-8 p.m. Friday,
\nJuly 10, at Sperry’s Restaurant, 30 1\/2 Caroline
\nSt., Saratoga Springs.<\/p>\n

One With Life Tequila is sold online and in
\nretail stores, bars and restaurants throughout
