DELUKE<\/p>\n<p>Compass Entertainment, a company<br \/>\nbased in Saratoga Springs, released its newest<br \/>\nfilm, &#8220;Dial A Prayer,&#8221; starring William H.<br \/>\nMacy and Brittany Snow.<\/p>\n<p>The movie opened on April 10 in select<br \/>\ntheatres nationwide and is currently available<br \/>\nto rent On Demand and on iTunes. It<br \/>\nwas also made available for purchase on<br \/>\nAmazon and at Wal-Mart starting May 10.<\/p>\n<p>In October, Compass Entertainment will<br \/>\nbegin filming &#8220;Adirondack Hunt Club,&#8221; a<br \/>\nmystery thriller, in and around Saratoga<br \/>\nSprings, said Marcus Dean Fuller, president<br \/>\nof Compass Entertainment and executive<br \/>\nproducer on &#8220;Dial A Prayer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said he could not comment yet on who<br \/>\nwould star in the film. Offers have been sent<br \/>\nout to actors and his company is gauging<br \/>\navailability and interest before deciding on<br \/>\nthe stars.<\/p>\n<p>He has written and will direct &#8220;Adirondack<br \/>\nHunt Club.&#8221; It will be the company&#8217;s fifth feature<br \/>\nfilm. The company moved to Saratoga Springs in 2009 and has offices downtown<br \/>\nabove Bow Tie Cinema.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dial-a-Prayer&#8221; is a coming-of-age tale<br \/>\nof a troubled young woman named Cora,<br \/>\n(Brittany Snow), who begrudgingly answers<br \/>\nphones at a Prayer Call Center under the<br \/>\nwatchful direction of its leader (William H.<br \/>\nMacy). When her prayers begin to make a<br \/>\ndifference, one caller shows up convinced<br \/>\nhe&#8217;s been saved by her voice.<\/p>\n<p>As Cora struggles to reconcile her past<br \/>\nand deal with her newfound gift, she begins<br \/>\nto find faith in herself, as well as her closet<br \/>\ncompanions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a writer\/director I understand the<br \/>\nneed for the purity of purpose in any creative<br \/>\nendeavor,&#8221; said Fuller. &#8220;When making a film,<br \/>\nthat singularity of vision always shows in<br \/>\nthe final project and that is why we chose<br \/>\nto make &#8216;Dial A Prayer.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Fuller&#8217;s company is also involved in a film<br \/>\nbeing released later this year, &#8220;Darkness<br \/>\nRising,&#8221; starring Tara Holt, Bryce Johnson and Katrina Law. It is a psychological horror<br \/>\nmovie which follows the lone survivor of a<br \/>\nbrutal family massacre. Haunted by her past,<br \/>\nshe revisits her childhood home on the eve<br \/>\nof its destruction, awakening the evil that<br \/>\nresides there.<\/p>\n<p>Compass Entertainment is an aggressive<br \/>\nnew film production company in Saratoga<br \/>\nSprings, aimed at bringing intelligent,<br \/>\ncompelling, provocative films back into the<br \/>\nmainstream, made with the freedom that<br \/>\ncomes by shooting outside of the studio<br \/>\nsystem. Compass Entertainment is owned<br \/>\nand operated by Fuller and his wife Julie S.<br \/>\nFuller who served as executive producer on<br \/>\n&#8220;Dial A Prayer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Fuller said the couple landed in Saratoga<br \/>\nby a &#8220;happy accident&#8221; a few years back and<br \/>\nended up finding a home they wanted to<br \/>\nrenovate and reside in. Since then, and two<br \/>\nchildren later, the Fullers have been active<br \/>\nin the community. He said living in New York<br \/>\nand Los Angeles spoiled them, getting them<br \/>\nused to good restaurants and plenty of activities.<br \/>\n&#8220;Saratoga meets that criteria,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Fuller is a producer, writer and filmmaker<br \/>\nwith 20 years experience working in TV,<br \/>\nfilm and stage. In 2008 he formed Compass<br \/>\nEntertainment to focus on the development<br \/>\nand production of independent, character<br \/>\ndriven films. He has been a guest lecturer<br \/>\non Entrepreneurship in the Film Industry<br \/>\nat Skidmore College and RPI. He serves on<br \/>\nthe Yale School of Drama board of advisors<br \/>\nas well as the Yale University alumni board,<br \/>\nthe Nantucket Theater Institute board of<br \/>\ndirectors and sits on the board of trustees<br \/>\nfor the Hyde Museum.<\/p>\n<p>He is a graduate of the Yale School of<br \/>\nDrama.<\/p>\n<p>Julie Fuller, COO, has over 10 years experience<br \/>\nin public relations and fundraising,<br \/>\nhaving worked in development for both senatorial<br \/>\nand gubernatorial political campaigns,<br \/>\nas well as for the Institute for American Values,<br \/>\na think-tank headquartered in New York<br \/>\nCity.
