{"id":17016,"date":"2015-06-05T21:42:17","date_gmt":"2015-06-06T01:42:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/saratogabusinessjournal\/2015\/06\/browns-beach-on-saratoga-lake-reopened-after-long-hiatus-offers-dining-and-docking.html"},"modified":"2015-06-05T21:42:17","modified_gmt":"2015-06-06T01:42:17","slug":"browns-beach-on-saratoga-lake-reopened-after-long-hiatus-offers-dining-and-docking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/saratogabusinessjournal\/2015\/06\/browns-beach-on-saratoga-lake-reopened-after-long-hiatus-offers-dining-and-docking\/","title":{"rendered":"Brown&#8217;s Beach On Saratoga Lake Reopened After Long Hiatus; Offers Dining And Docking"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"img-left\">\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"browns-beach-wm.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saratoga.com\/saratogabusinessjournal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2015\/06\/browns-beach-wm.jpg\" class=\"alignleft\" width=\"300\" height=\"222\" \/>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"img-caption\">Brown&#8217;s Beach in Stillwater is open again, featuring a spacious beach on Saratoga Lake, a full-service marina and two distinct restaurants where people can eat inside or on a patio\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Brown&#8217;s Beach in Stillwater, on Saratoga<br \/>\nLake, opened recently after a hiatus of some<br \/>\n10 years.<br \/>\n&#8220;Amazing,&#8221; said Stillwater Town Supervisor<br \/>\nEd Kinowski at its opening.<\/p>\n<p>The beach went unused after it was privately<br \/>\nbought in 2006.<br \/>\nKinowski said that about two to three<br \/>\nyears ago, there was so much growth the<br \/>\nbeach couldn&#8217;t be seen.<\/p>\n<p>However, through new local revenues created<br \/>\nby Global Foundries and the NYSERDA<br \/>\nTechnology Park, the town of Stillwater,<br \/>\nunder the leadership of Kinowski, was able<br \/>\nto purchase the 9-acre Brown&#8217;s Beach parcel<br \/>\nto re-purpose back to public use.<\/p>\n<p>The town hired the Chazen Companies<br \/>\nto re-engineer and update the entire site<br \/>\ninfrastructure for parking, erosion and runoff<br \/>\ncontrol, marina and banquet facilities,<br \/>\ntraffic management and ADA compliance.<\/p>\n<p>Panza&#8217;s Restaurant Group was selected<br \/>\nthrough an RFP process to operate the<br \/>\nrestaurant, inn, pavilion, beach and hospitality functions and Menneto Powersports<br \/>\nwas hired to manage the marina and repair<br \/>\nfacilities, both under long-term contracts.<\/p>\n<p>The resort is in its first year with plans to build out infrastructure over the next five<br \/>\nyears, according to the resort website. Currently<br \/>\noperating are the restaurant (Dock<br \/>\nBrown&#8217;s with boater courtesy docks) the inn<br \/>\n(The Nest), the 60 feet by 80 feet enclosed<br \/>\noutdoor pavilion for weddings, parties and<br \/>\nevents, and the beach.<\/p>\n<p>Diners can choose from the bright and<br \/>\nmodern indoor dining room or beachside<br \/>\npatio.<\/p>\n<p>The Nest is comprised of seven distinctive<br \/>\nrooms, each with its own theme native<br \/>\nto the area. Three of the seven rooms are<br \/>\nlake views. Each of the rooms have private<br \/>\nbathrooms, complimentary wifi internet<br \/>\naccess, and flat-screen televisions.<\/p>\n<p>This year, a fully-functioning marina with<br \/>\n150 boat slips, marine fuel service, boat<br \/>\nand snow mobile repair centers, ship store<br \/>\nand boat launch were added as well as a<br \/>\npermanent pavilion structure, beach bar<br \/>\nand cabanas. Plans for the following season<br \/>\ninclude a beachside grill and restroom\/<br \/>\nchanging facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The beach website is www.brownsbeachresort.com.
