In addition to offering a setting for<br \/>\nmanicures and pedicures for bridal parties,<br \/>\nbirthdays, or just some mother-daughter<br \/>\nbonding time, Glitter Nail Bar serves wine,<br \/>\nbeer and other light beverages, along with<br \/>\na vegetarian menu that includes hummus,<br \/>\nvegetable and cheese platters, and assorted<br \/>\ncrudit\u00c3\u00a9&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>Sisters Lindsey and Marcella Hammer<br \/>\nlovingly refer to Glitter Nail Bar as their &#8220;big<br \/>\nidea.&#8221; While growing up, the girls worked<br \/>\ntogether at various jobs, so it seemed natural<br \/>\nthey would continue their partnership into<br \/>\nadulthood.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have complimentary skills,&#8221; said<br \/>\nMarcella, &#8220;and we both love marketing.&#8221;<br \/>\nSo, while working together in their graphic<br \/>\ndesign consulting business, Lindsey came up<br \/>\nwith the idea of a nail bar that would be a<br \/>\ncombination cocktail lounge and nail salon.<br \/>\nThey decided to name their new venture<br \/>\n&#8220;Glitter&#8221; and nine months later their new<br \/>\nbusiness was born.<\/p>\n<p>Both women have artistic and creative<br \/>\nbackgrounds, with Lindsey&#8217;s specialty being<br \/>\ngraphic design and Marcella&#8217;s focus on writing<br \/>\nand editorial work. Both women love nail art.<br \/>\nThey have put that love and those talents to<br \/>\nwork in creating and marketing Glitter Nail<br \/>\nBar to women of all ages.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Have you and your daughter ever gone<br \/>\nto get a mani\/pedi together and you end up<br \/>\nsitting at opposite ends of the nail salon?&#8221;<br \/>\naskd Marcella. Glitter Nail Bar solved that<br \/>\nproblem by creating spaces where women<br \/>\ncan socialize and enjoy a glass of champagne<br \/>\ntogether and nosh on finger food while<br \/>\nlicensed nail technicians turn their hands<br \/>\nand feet into little works of art. Glitter even<br \/>\nhas a mini manicure and pedicure package<br \/>\nfor girls 12 and under.<\/p>\n<p>The nail menu includes lacquer, gel, or<br \/>\nANC polish, French or half-moon design,<br \/>\nchampagne manicure and pedicure soaks,<br \/>\nand jewel or stud nail art among the options.<br \/>\nThe complete menu of options is available<br \/>\non the company website, along with a food<br \/>\nand beverage menu and information about<br \/>\ngroup bookings and private parties.<\/p>\n<p>The 2,000-square-foot space lends itself<br \/>\nto the &#8220;lounge&#8221; concept, and groups can mix<br \/>\nand mingle during their salon treatments.<br \/>\n&#8220;The space allows us to customize events<br \/>\nto meet every party&#8217;s specific needs,&#8221; said<br \/>\nMarcella. With the main entrance is located<br \/>\nat the rear of the building on Long Alley, there<br \/>\nis dedicated parking available and customers<br \/>\ndon&#8217;t have to deal with trying to park on<br \/>\nBroadway.
