American Natural Gas (ANG), a distributor of
\nalternative motor fuels, will unveil its first public
\ncompressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station in
\nthe W.J. Grande Industrial Park, Saratoga Springs.<\/p>\n

Currently under construction, the facility will be
\njust off the Northway, located halfway between New
\nYork City and Montreal.<\/p>\n

“We’re proud to run our business from Saratoga
\nSprings and are excited to be building this station
\nin our home town,” said Drew West, CEO of ANG.
\n“We believe this will be an opportunity for those
\nthat desire to switch to a cleaner, more reliable fuel
\nsolution, but don’t have the luxury or budget to build
\ntheir own infrastructure.”<\/p>\n

ANG has guided regional fleets, such as Tops
\nFriendly Markets in Buffalo and Casella Waste
\nSystems in Rutland, Vt., through the conversion to
\nCNG. In return, the fleets have reduced their emissions,
\ncarbon footprint, and dependency on foreign
\noil, company officials said.<\/p>\n


\n“New, innovative infrastructure like this provides
\nalternatives in how drivers fuel their day and makes
\nit easier for us all to reduce our carbon footprint and
\nplay a larger role in our campaign to combat climate
\nchange,” said Rep. Paul D. Tonko of Amsterdam.
\n“With Saratoga Springs-based ANG, the Capital
\nRegion has expanded the leadership role we have
\ntaken in recent decades to expand the green-collar
\njob market and show the nation what it means to
\nthink outside the barrel.”<\/p>\n

According to Natural Gas Vehicles for America,
\nan organization dedicated to the development of
\na growing, profitable, and sustainable market for
\nvehicles powered by natural gas, the fossil fuel is the
\ncleanest burning commercially available alternative
\nfuel today and its use as a transportation fuel is
\nimproving the air quality and the health of communities
\nacross the country.<\/p>\n

Overall costs to operate heavy-duty trucks on
\nCNG are significantly less than running the same
\ntrucks on gasoline or diesel fuel, the organization
\nclaims.<\/p>\n

The W.J. Grande Industrial Park Station is the
\nthird New York state station announced by ANG in
\nthe past two months and the second public one. It
\nwill become an important point along ANG’s grow-
\ning corridor of public CNG stations in the Northeast
\nand extend the range of travel for CNG-converted
\nfleets, the company said.<\/p>\n

Officials said that as ANG designed the station,
\nit selected top-of-the line equipment with regional
\nlong haul, public transportation, and return-tobase
\nfleets in mind. The station will have two cold
\nweather-reliable 200 HP Cobey energy compressors
\nwith two points of temperature compensation and
\na Xebec dryer.<\/p>\n

It will feature three fueling lanes and consumerfriendly
\nBennett CRIND dispensers that can accommodate
\nClass 8 (WB-67) semi tractor-trailers.<\/p>\n

The station is under construction on an ANGowned
\nparcel, 34 Cady Hill Boulevard, Saratoga
\nSprings, that the company will continue to own,
\noperate, and maintain.<\/p>\n
