Event proceeds are used to improve the<br \/>\nlives of women and children locally, nationally<br \/>\nand internationally.<\/p>\n<p>Day is an award-winning independent journalist<br \/>\nand 2013 Fulbright Fellow who co-founded<br \/>\nan organization that represents journalists<br \/>\nwho work in areas of political and military<br \/>\nconflict. On the ground in Bahrain, Brazil, Egypt,<br \/>\nIsrael, Jordan, Mexico, Syria and Turkey, her<br \/>\ncoverage focuses on American foreign policy,<br \/>\nwomen&#8217;s issues and youth organizing.<\/p>\n<p>Her work has been featured in a variety of<br \/>\nmedia outlets including CNN, Al Jazeera English,<br \/>\nand CBS. Day is a regular contributor on<br \/>\nHuffPostLive and is acclaimed for her debates<br \/>\nwith President Barak Obama, former Secretary<br \/>\nof State Condoleezza Rice and GOP presidential<br \/>\nhopeful Mitt Romney.<\/p>\n<p>Cabin Fever attracted more than 200 people<br \/>\nand raised in excess of $40,000 last year.<br \/>\nSISC invites community participation<br \/>\nthrough sponsorships, silent auction donations<br \/>\nand attendance.
