The Law Office of Carolyn A. D’Agostino PLLC
\nhas moved to a new location at 634 Plank Road,
\nSuite 102 in Clifton Park.<\/p>\n

D’Agostino opened her private practice in 2007
\nafter working 21 years for the state of New York,
\nwhere she was director of hearing administration
\nand the matrimonial unit at New York State Retirement
\nSystems.<\/p>\n

The law firm moved to Clifton Park from its
\nformer location in Latham in order to be more
\ncentrally located for her clients. D’Agostino sees
\nClifton Park as a fast-growing area, with opportunities
\nto provide valuable services to residents
\nof the surrounding community.<\/p>\n

She said she is also excited to be working with
\nother local professionals.<\/p>\n

“It’s a real pleasure to work and do business
\nhere,” she said, in particular noting that the
\nBallston Spa court system is excellent.<\/p>\n


\nThe experience D’Agostino acquired working
\nfor state Retirement Systems was instrumental
\nto her in developing a special focus on advising
\ncouples going through divorce, she said. Counseling
\nin the area of Division of Retirement Assets
\nbecome an important experience in helping develop
\nher private practice. That practice includes
\nmatrimonial law, divorce mediation, and estate
\nplanning.<\/p>\n

“There are not a lot of matrimonial attorneys in
\nthe area who are willing or who have the expertise
\nto focus on this very important component of the
\nseparation and divorce process,” said D’Agostino.<\/p>\n

D’Agostino received her first law degree in
\n1994 from Loyola University of Chicago School
\nof Law, where she graduated magna cum laude,
\nranking third in her class. She was also a member
\nof the Loyola Law Journal<\/em> and editor of the Loyola
\nConsumer Law Reporter<\/em>. She did this while raising
\ntwo children, who were 4 and 6 at the time of her
\ngraduation.<\/p>\n

In 2011, D’Agostino received an LLM (Master of
\nLaws) degree from Western New England College
\nof law, in the areas of estate planning and elder law.<\/p>\n

In addition, she has been involved in pro bono
\nwork, focusing on helping victims of domestic
\nviolence. She was the 2013 recipient of a leadership
\naward for outstanding legal service to domestic
\nviolence victims, given to her by the Legal Project
\nof the Women’s Bar Association of Albany. She also
\nremains active in the Legal Aid Society, both locally
\nand in the Mid-Hudson Valley region.<\/p>\n
