Owner Holly Garofano said after being in

Halfmoon for nine years, she felt like it was

time to make a change. A resident of Malta,

she used to drive by what would become the

new location every day, admiring the building

and more importantly the convenient

location.

“My husband and I were excited when

the for sale sign went up and were able to

purchase it,” she said. “I am so happy to be a

part of the growing Malta community. I am so

excited to be more involved in the community

here and continue to provide our guests the

same incredible service they received at our

former location. It has always been a priority

to give back to the community that supports

our business so I am thrilled to work with my

fellow business professionals.”

Garofano said she had to get creative with

the current options for parking and worked

with the salon's neighbor, a McDonald's restaurant,

on a solution. They worked out a plan

to utilize a portion of McDonald's parking

lot in exchange for a donation to The Ronald

McDonald House. Garofano said they plan

to expand parking for patrons in the spring.

Malta is proving to be lucrative for the

salon, according to Garofano, who said they

have seen an increase in business.

She said the upscale salon sets itself

apart from others by offering the luxury of

a metropolitan salon in a local, comfortable

atmosphere.

"We are an exclusive Bumble and Bumble

salon, comprised of a small team of artists

that attend Bb University yearly and participate

in salon classes led by our Bb network

educator. We work hard to develop relationships

with our guests. We are a New York

City-style boutique salon that is home to a

team of passionate artists, elevating the craft

of hairdressing while delivering an original

experience," said Garofano.

She said Malta and surrounding communities

will benefit not only from having the

salon services, but also through her commitment

to giving back. She and her staff make

giving back to the community a priority.

"I am proud to say we have had the opportunity

to help many local organizations

including the Helping Hands School and

the Brave Will Foundation, To Life and the

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society," said

Garofano.
