The Saratoga Builders Association Inc. announced
\nits continued monetary commitment to
\neducation with the awarding of a $1,000 student
\nscholarship in 2016.<\/p>\n
The organization makes this scholarship
\navailable annually to high school seniors who are
\nplanning to pursue a construction industry education
\nat a two- or four-year accredited college
\nor university or to students who would like to
\npurchase tools for employment in construction.<\/p>\n
The association said students must have a
\nGPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible. They must
\nalso demonstrate current or past involvement
\nin the construction field, including classes taken
\nin high school. Each applicant must also submit
\na high school transcript or list of construction
\nclasses taken, plus a short essay describing why
\nthey are interested in a construction industry
\ncareer and what events led to this decision.<\/p>\n
Applications for the scholarship program
\nmust be postmarked on or before April 1. Only
\nthe first 25 completed applications will be accepted.
\nThe winner and their school will be
\nnotified by June 1.<\/p>\n
