The Lodge in Saratoga Springs, once the home of millionaire businessman and race horse owner Harry Payne Whitney, is available to rent for specials events.\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

For those looking to host about a 100- to 200-
\nperson special event in Saratoga Springs, The
\nLodge on Nelson Avenue could be that place.
\nNow being marketed as a venue for gatherings,
\nThe Lodge offers the Spa City feel in a prime
\nlocation.<\/p>\n

Once the home of millionaire businessman and
\nrace horse owner Harry Payne Whitney, the property
\nat the corner of Nelson and Crescent avenues
\nis now owned by Saratoga Casino and Raceway.<\/p>\n

Lodge Lease Holding LLC and Racing Restaurants
\nof America II Corp. had been leasing the
\nfacility for Saratoga Casino and Raceway. The two
\nsides had a disagreement that is now in court.<\/p>\n

In
\nApril, the casino sued, saying it was owed some
\n$67,000 in unpaid licensing fees and utility bill.
\nLodge Lease Holding LLC and Racing Restaurants
\nof America II Corp., denies the allegations.
\nA counter-claim was filed in May claiming they
\nwere charged for utilities after their seasonal
\nbusiness closed.<\/p>\n

In the meantime Saratoga Casino and Raceway
\nis putting the facility to use.<\/p>\n

The Lodge has undergone a makeover, including
\npainting the interior and exterior, as well as
\nother cosmetic improvements. The building can
\nnow be rented for private events, parties and weddings.
\nIt is available for year-round events and can
\naccommodate up to 100 guests inside and 200 with
\nits outside facilities.<\/p>\n

The facility is also open for cocktails at 5 p.m.
\non race days for the duration of the Saratoga Race
\nCourse season.<\/p>\n

“The Lodge is a classic venue with a special
\nenergy, especially in the breathtaking main bar
\narea,” said Colleen Carlson, director of sales.
\nShe said restoring this historic space “is truly an
\nhonor for us for all of those involved because of the
\nrich history surrounding the building … Everyone
\nfalls in love with the space when they see it.”<\/p>\n

Saratoga Casino and Raceway, located on Crescent
\nAvenue in Saratoga Springs, features over 1,700
\nslots, electronic table games, Vapor nightclub, two
\nfull-service restaurants with buffets, a casual dining
\nrestaurant, three full-service bars, deli and a variety
