Valerie Muratori, executive director of
\nSaratoga Bridges, is the 2015 chairwoman of
\nthe board of directors of the Saratoga County
\nChamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n

Muratori will take office at the Chamber’s 97th
\nannual dinner on Thursday, Jan. 29 at Saratoga
\nCity Center, 522 Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
\nThe event will kickoff with a cocktail reception
\n6-7 p.m., followed by dinner and program
\n7-8:30 p.m. and a dessert reception, 8:30-9:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Muratori began her volunteer leadership on
\nthe board of directors in 2011 and she served as
\nthe chairperson-elect in 2014. Muratori follows
\nSteve von Schenk, the president of Adirondack
\nTrust Co., who was the chairman in 2014, and who
\nwill serve on the Chamber’s executive committee
\nas the immediate past-chair.<\/p>\n

“The one thing I’ve seen by serving on the
\nChamber’s board of directors since 2011 is that
\nwe all benefit from the Chamber’s work to grow
\nSaratoga County’s economy and to protect and
\nenhance our quality of life,” said Muratori.<\/p>\n

“Every great community has a great chamber of
\ncommerce and the Saratoga County Chamber
\nof Commerce has a long history of success as
\nwell as a vision for the future that is strong and
\nsustainable.”<\/p>\n

She added, “We’ve tried to include as many
\ndiverse voices as possible on the board. We’ve
\nelected and appointed volunteers who will speak
\nout at board meetings and use their voice to guide
\nour decisions. Our board meetings include lively
\ndiscussions and debate as we work together to
\nfigure out what new programs and initiatives
\nthe Chamber should champion for the benefit of Saratoga County and all of us who are fortunate
\nto live and work here.”<\/p>\n

Joining Muratori and von Schenk on the executive
\ncommittee are Matt Jones, of the Jones
\nFirm as chairman-elect for 2016; David Collins,
\nof DA Collins and Brian Straughter of the Turf
\nHotels as vice chairmen; Theresa Agresta of Allegory
\nStudios as treasurer; and Nafeesa Koslik
\nof the Hampton Inn – Clifton Park as secretary.<\/p>\n

Newly elected to their first three-year terms
\non the board of directors are Beth Alexander of
\nHatties restaurant; Rochelle Calhoun, Skidmore
\nCollege; David Cummings, The Run at Saratoga;
\nAdam Favro, Turning Point Chiropractic; Art
\nJohnson, supervisor, town of Wilton; and Dan
\nWagner, State Farm Insurance.<\/p>\n

Those remaining on the 2015 board include
\nPatricia Mangino, Mangino-Buick GMC; Ian
\nMurray, Brookside Nursery; Jessica Petraccione,
\nFirst National Bank of Scotia; David DeMarco, of
\nSaratoga National Bank & Trust Co.; Marianne
\nBarker, Impressions of Saratoga; Raj Ghoshal,
\nPolyset; Travis Bullard, GlobalFoundries; Steve
\nSpringer, Atlantic-British; Cassie Fox, N. Fox
\nJewelers; Peter Goutos, CA Smith, LLC; Kevin
\nHedley, Hedley & Co., CPA.<\/p>\n

The board includes three new members appointed
\nby Muratori to serve a one-year term.
\nThey are Shelly Amato, of the Wesley Community,
\nDaryl Glass of Target Distribution Center and
\nChristianne Smith of Designsmith Studios. Phil
\nKlein of the Adirondack Trust Insurance Co., was
\nappointed by Muratori to serve a one-year term
\nas a past-chairman of the board.<\/p>\n

At the annual dinner, von Schenk will be
\nrecognized for his leadership and efforts in 2014.
\nThere will be recognition of volunteers, members
\nof the board of directors and members who have
\nbeen in good standing for 25 years.<\/p>\n
