Wong said naturopathic medicine integrates
\nevidence-based conventional and alternative
\napproaches and natural treatments, including
\nnutrition counseling, supplements, acupuncture,
\nChinese medicine and Western herbs.
\nShe often works with her patients’ primary
\ncare providers to help her clients with their
\nhealth goals.<\/p>\n

Acupuncture and Chinese medicine have
\nbeen a complete system of medicine for more
\nthan 2000 years, explained Wong. Acupuncture
\nemploys the insertion of very fine needles to
\nstimulate areas of the body that relieve specific
\nsymptoms. In the most recent literature, it has
\nbeen shown to relieve a variety of symptoms
\nincluding migraines, low back pain and hot
\nflashes.<\/p>\n

Dr. Wong has a doctorate degree in naturopathic
\nmedicine and masters in acupuncture and oriental medicine from Bastyr University in
\nSeattle, Wash., and encourages people seeking
\nnaturopathic care to find providers who have
\nalso graduated from a CNME-accredited school
\nand have passed their licensing board exams.
