The Michaels Group, Builder and Developer is
\nabout to the start construction on more homes at
\nits Woodfield Estates project off Route 9 in Malta.
\nThe company said the project will include 24
\nsingle-family homes as well as some commercial
\nspace.<\/p>\n
Woodfield Estates already has 52 single-family
\nhomes that were built in 2009. The homes to
\nbe added by the Michaels Group will be similar
\nin both the style of the current homes as well
\nas the lot size, according to Luke Michaels,
\ncustomer service manager. The new homes will
\nalso have access to the existing basketball and
\ntennis courts.<\/p>\n
“The owners of the new 24 homes will be
\nable to enjoy all of the current amenities,” said
\nMichaels. Amenities are covered by an owners’
\nassociation fee.<\/p>\n
Part of the commercial space is approved for a bank, Michaels said. He did not disclose which
\nbank. The Michaels’s Group is also planning to
\nmove its headquarters into part of the commercial
\nspace. Currently, the commercial space
\nis slated for just the bank and Michaels Group
\noffices, but Michaels said that could be subject to
\nchange, depending on the size of each business.
\n“We are looking to relocate our office from its
\ncurrent Route 9 location. We think this would be
\na great spot for us,” said Michaels.<\/p>\n
Before construction begins, the company is
\nwaiting for permits from the state Department
\nof Health and Department of Environmental
\nConservation.<\/p>\n
Construction is expected to begin this fall.
\nMichaels said the homes will be on the market
\nin the spring.<\/p>\n
