One hundred seventy-five years ago,
\nBSNB’s first president, James M. Cook,
\nsaw a need for a financial institution in the
\nBallston Spa area. His efforts helped bring
\nabout the formation of what is now Ballston
\nSpa National Bank.<\/p>\n
Helping to fulfill needs remains central
\nto BSNB’s mission, and in honor of its 175th
\nanniversary, the bank will contribute an
\nadditional $75,000 to the BSNB Charitable
\nFoundation, bank officials announced in
\nFebruary.<\/p>\n
“BSNB feels strongly about giving back
\nand strengthening the communities where
\nwe do business,” said BSNB President and
\nCeO Christopher R. Dowd. <\/p>\n
“The additional funding enhances the foundation’s future capacity to support community development and growth, building on a tradition of community support that began 175 years ago.”<\/p>\n
The foundation, which was established in 2009, provides funding to address community needs in areas such as arts and culture, education, economic development, health and human services, and neighborhood revitalization.<\/p>\n
BSNB is opening its 175th anniversary year with the $75,000 contribution. Officials said that throughout the year, the bank will continue the celebration in various ways, including an anniversary party for customers and community members. BSNB will also dip into the archives to feature historical items, photos and fun facts, which will be displayed both online and on digital screens in branch locations.<\/p>\n
BSNB offers a wide range of products and services to individuals, families, municipalities, not-for-profits and businesses.<\/p>\n
