The Saratoga Springs Rotary Club will donate
\nroughly $18,000 this year to one or more
\nlocal charities and is seeking applications by
\nApril 30 from groups that could benefit from
\nthe funds.<\/p>\n
To benefit from the club’s “major gifts”
\nprogram, local nonprofit groups should have a
\nsignificant project needing funding assistance.
\n“Major capital projects often challenge
\nthe tight financial budgets of local nonprofits,
\nand that’s where the Rotary Club
\ncan be of real help,” said Jo Ann Buchas,
\nthe club’s current chairwoman of the major
\ngifts committee.<\/p>\n
In 2013, the club awarded $12,000 to the
\nSaratoga Springs Preservation Foundation to
\nassist with restoration of the “Spirit of Life”
\nTrask Memorial in Congress Park, and $5,000
\nto the Friends of the state Military Museum for
\nrestoration of a painting depicting the Battle
\nof Saratoga. <\/p>\n

Rotary does not provide funding for general operating expenses or fundraising campaigns. The program is not designed for multi-year donations, and should not be identified with any governmental body or individual.<\/p>\n
