\nYork as the place for high-tech business to

CEG exhibited under its umbrella marketing
\ninitiative, NY Loves Nanotech at
\nSEMICON West, an opportunity for regional
\nbusiness and industry leaders to promote
\ntheir semiconductor successes and pursue
\nnew relationships with a global audience of
\nsemiconductor\/PV firms and supply chain
\ncompanies at one of the industry’s leading
\ntrade events.<\/p>\n
CEG is collaborating this year with partners
\nfrom the Buffalo Niagara Enterprise,
\nthe Greater Rochester Enterprise, Genesee
\nCounty Economic Development Center and
\nthe Mohawk Valley Edge, with critical support
\nfrom National Grid and Empire State
\nDevelopment Corp.<\/p>\n
“The semiconductor industry has its focus squarely on upstate New York, and our ongoing and collaborative efforts to position our multiple Upstate regions for growth are resonating across the entire industry,” said CEG Senior Vice President David Rooney. “SEMICON West offers a superb forum to share our message with thousands of industry leaders, many of whom are native New Yorkers, graduates of our excellent colleges and universities or who work directly in the industry, and the consistent refrain we hear is that the leadership New York is demonstrating is critical for the industry and for U.S. advanced manufacturing.”<\/p>\n
SEMICON West, the flagship annual event for the microelectronics industry organized by SEMI, included more than 600 supplier and vendor exhibits representing over 20 countries. The show, which also features informational and networking opportunities, attracted 30,000 attendees from around the world. The show focuses on the key trends and technologies driving the future of the microelectronic, photovoltaic, semiconductor, and renewable and emerging markets.<\/p>\n
Intersolar North America, co-located with SEMICON West, promotes the development of business opportunities throughout the U.S. solar industry. The show focused on photovoltaics and solar thermal technology and has quickly established itself among manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and service providers as a vital international industry meeting point.<\/p>\n
NY Loves Nanotech sponsored two key talks at the show focusing on next steps for the industry in R&D, and the transition to 450mm wafers.<\/p>\n
Linda Hill, lead economic developer from National Grid, noted “It’s always impressive to see upstate New York as a key conversation topic in many of the events and expert panels held throughout the three day show.<\/p>\n

At the event, NY Loves Nanotech hosted its 14th annual dessert reception, a top networking event of the week. More than 400 C-level industry executives attended, including representatives from Global- Foundries, Applied Materials, SEMATECH, Intel, Lam Research and KLA-Tencor among other leading firms.
