Upstate New York, football season and wings. It\u2019s a winning combination that the new Wings Over Saratoga owners counted on. <\/span><\/p>\n

Joe Hill and his son, Tanner, have been running the wing restaurant for over a month and Hill said they are excited about the initial response.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThing are going really well. Of course it\u2019s football season, so with wings and football, you can\u2019t go wrong,\u201d said Hill about the weeks leading through the Super Bowl.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hill said Tanner worked with the previous owner for 10 years as assistant manger and when they were ready to go into a different direction and sell the business, they looked to his son. <\/span><\/p>\n

Hill said he went into business with his son after working in the building trade sector for over 30 years. He was considering different business options, but eventually felt that working with his son would be a positive experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was more than happy to try something new and different,\u201d said Hill.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hill said he also did his homework on the Wings Over franchise. The company has over 40 locations spanning from the Northeast, Southeast and Midwest. It was started by two University of Massachusetts college students, Patrick Daly and Harold Tramazzo, who were tired of microwave and fast food, so they started playing around with different wing ideas. That experiment eventually lead to a successful restaurant business.<\/span><\/p>\n

One advantage to working with a food franchise is consistency, he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWings Over dictates the recipes and the exact method of preparation, so people know what to expect, and we make sure they get that,\u201d said Hill.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to traditional wings, they serve boneless wings, ribs, sandwiches and fries for takeout and delivery. All of the chicken and ribs are handmade and unprocessed. Orders are available in various flavors and sizes, with many different available side sauces.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 103 West Ave., Saratoga Springs, location is about 1,800 square feet and employs 14 people. Hill said they not only love Saratoga, but they love their location.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a great group of regulars and are excited to keep getting new business as well,\u201d said Hill.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is open Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m.\u00a0 <\/span>to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The phone is 584-8200. Its website is WingsOver.com.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
