Today, the mother of two has launched an online retail business that allows her to establish roots in upstate New York while enjoying the European decor she craves. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">It is a business venture she said is giving her a sense of fulfillment in the place she now calls home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe idea came about few months ago when I started to decorate my little one\u2019s room. I was looking for items that reflected my passion for Scandinavian design and fit with my style,\u201dsaid Fort.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI decided to let my heart guide me with the vision that nurseries can be modern and cute spaces. From there kidslovedecor.com was born,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Her company, Kids Love Decor, is<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>an online boutique filled with decoration products for children that can\u2019t be found at most retail stores. The hand-picked decor items come from all over the globe and are specifically for babies and children\u2019s bedrooms, nurseries and playrooms. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><!--more-->Fort has a eye for unique items, materials, linens and gift ideas. She also has 12 years of marketing experience gained while she was living in Barcelona.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Fort said she has organized the online boutique based on simplicity, originality and stylizing, and design. She looks for items that will inspire a child\u2019s imaginations with soft warm colors and whimsical characters. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Currently, she is running the business on her own but she hopes to be able to grow, allowing her to hire some employees. Fort is hoping to make connections with other small business owners, as well as other moms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Items on the website include mobiles, storage, blankets, crib sets, plates, cups, wall decor, pillows, baby-changing items, gift cards and more.
