Land Remediation Inc., which provides environmental remediation and other specialized services to customers in the Capital Region and the Northeast, opened its new headquarters and operations facility at 74 Hudson River Road in Waterford on April 14. <\/span><\/p>\n

Company officials said the $1.8 million project creates and retains more than 40 jobs and enables collaboration with a hub of businesses within Saratoga County.<\/span><\/p>\n

Land Remediation worked with the Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership to re-purpose a long-vacant industrial site, a former service center and auto salvage yard.<\/span><\/p>\n

The newly constructed 15,000-square-foot building includes space for office and administrative functions, warehousing, manufacturing and fabrication. It also has outside storage and parking for specialized equipment and other supplies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Land Remediation officials said they expect to hire at least 12 new employees, with an average annual salary of $60,000, over the next three years, adding to its current 29-member workforce of engineers, equipment operators, laborers and office staff. <\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, the new facility has enabled the attraction of another company to Saratoga County, Winn Construction, which has set up offices in the building, officials said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through a program offered by the Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership, Land Remediation is the first company to receive a refund of\u00a0 <\/span>nearly $7,000 for a portion of fees incurred for processing of its funding application with\u00a0 <\/span>the Saratoga County Industrial Development Agency.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to finally be able to locate our entire company under one roof, which will make us more efficient, expand our customer base and grow our company,\u201d said William Lindheimer, general manager of Land Remediation. \u201cWe are excited to be in the perfect location in Waterford, where we can work with a hub of outstanding construction and service companies.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Saratoga County companies were used by Land Remediation in the construction of its new facility, including: Munter Enterprises as general contractor; Kivort Steel and Pallette Stone for construction materials; cranes from Zinter Handling; Alltek Energy Systems\u00a0 <\/span>for HVAC; Zanetti Millwork for interior work; and Firetek Sprinkler Systems for the fire suppression system. <\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the company is collaborating with a number of complementary construction and service companies, also located in Waterford, including Kivort Steel, Jersen Construction, Stephenson Equipment, BPI Piping, Alltek Energy, Rock Krawler and Winn Construction.<\/span><\/p>\n

Land Remediation environmental services include several utility providers; industrial, commercial, engineering and consulting firms; and government agencies. Land Remediation\u2019s capabilities range from complex remediation at former industrial sites to heavy civil and geotechnical construction on clean construction projects. It conducts all phases of remediation work, including heavy civil\/marine construction, sediment dredging, soil stabilization, and geotechnical construction.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ninety percent of the project was funded through private investment. The rest was funded through tax incentives from the Saratoga County IDA, totaling approximately $188,000, officials said.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
