(NYRA) announced that SOSH Architects has been selected as architect of record for the proposed At the Rail building at Saratoga Race Course. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Pursuant to the Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by NYRA in February, SOSH Architects will oversee design, bid and construction administration services for the possible development of a building to be located immediately adjacent to the end of the clubhouse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Founded in 1979, SOSH Architects has built a global reputation through decades of work in designing, planning and building large scale hospitality spaces, according to NYRA officials.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Separately, NYRA will be consulting with Matt Hurff, partner at Frost Hurff Architects based in Saratoga Springs, during critical design stages of the project to ensure all historic preservation standards are met, officials said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Hurff has extensive experience working on significant projects at Saratoga Race Course, including renovations to the historic Pony Barn and paddock mutuel building, construction of new dormitories, the Saratoga Walk of Fame and the Clubhouse escalator.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><!--more-->In 2015, NYRA submitted capital plans that included adding a three-story building adjacent to the current clubhouse at the historic track. The addition would replace the current At the Rail pavilion tent and temporary luxury suites near the clubhouse turn. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">At the time, NYRA said the hospitality building would have a 500-seat room and party suites.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Capital projects at the track require approval from the state Racing Franchise Oversight Board and the state Office of General Services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">NYRA feels the new structure, among other proposed renovations, would provide fans broader service choices and an enhanced experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">A timetable for construction was not released.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The New York Racing Association, Inc.
