The Ballston Spa Business & Professional Association<\/b> (BSBPA) announced additional vendors and entertainment for the 16th Annual The Way We Were car show to be held Sunday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m.\u00a0 <\/span>4 p.m. on Front Street in Ballston Spa.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rain date for the event is Sunday, Oct. 14.<\/span><\/p>\n

Front Street in the village will be blocked off from Milton Avenue past the Old Iron Spring to accommodate car exhibits and vendors. In addition to the classic and specialty cars on display, there will be live music from Betsy & The ByeGons, a Kids\u2019 Zone with bounce house and children\u2019s activities, plus car related and other vendors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Food will be available throughout the show route from several restaurant, food truck and community organization vendors, including the Brickyard, MeMe\u2019s Snack Shack, Spike\u2019s Sauce, Ballston Spa Rotary and Ballston Spa Lions Club. Brookside Museum will hold demonstrations from local EMS teams on its lawn. The museum\u2019s exhibits will be open to visitors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trophies will be awarded n many categories. Judging begins at 9 a.m. with trophies awarded at 3 p.m. <\/span><\/p>\n

All proceeds will benefit the community activities and efforts of the BSBPA. <\/span><\/p>\n

Rebuilding Together Saratoga County<\/b> ill hold its 15th annual dinner. The dinner will be held on October 11, 2018 from 5:30-9 p.m. at the Hall of Springs in Saratoga Springs. <\/span><\/p>\n

All proceeds from the dinner will go to help homeowners in need in Saratoga County live independently in safe and healthy homes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each year, the dinner highlights the work being accomplished by the organization. <\/span><\/p>\n

The evening\u2019s activities include a dinner catered by Mazzone Hospitality, a silent auction, a mystery box raffle and a live auction. A short program will include the presentation of our Community Partner of the Year Award to Doug Ford of Curtis Lumber and our Volunteers of the Year awards to Tom and Anita Harris.<\/span><\/p>\n

U.S. News & World Report<\/i> has named Saratoga Hospital <\/b>a \u201cBest Regional Hospital\u201d in northeastern New York for 2018-2019. Of the more than 4,500 U.S. hospitals and medical centers evaluated, 520\u2014less than 12 percent\u2014earned the Best Regional Hospital designation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Saratoga Hospital also was rated \u201chigh performing\u201d in three specialties, procedures and conditions\u2014orthopedics, heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary <\/span>disease\u2014and ranked 23rd among nearly 220 New York hospitals for high-quality care.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Capital Region, Albany Med and St. Peter\u2019s Hospital also were named to New York\u2019s top 25. Statewide, only one hospital of similar size to Saratoga Hospital made the list.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the 2018-2019 rankings, U.S. News & World Report evaluated hospitals nationwide in 25 specialties, procedures and conditions. Ratings are based largely or entirely on objective measures, such as risk-adjusted survival and readmission rates, volume, patient experience, patient safety and quality of nursing, as well as other care-related indicators.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dan Provost Memorial Walk for Awareness and Recovery<\/b> will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs. <\/span><\/p>\n

It will be a 1.5 mile family-friendly walk around the Skidmore campus.\u00a0 <\/span>Registration, games and activities begin at 10 a.m. The walk begins at 11 a.m.\u00a0 <\/span>Donations of $10 for individuals and $20 for families<\/span><\/p>\n

Provost, of\u00a0 <\/span>Saratoga Springs died in 2014, at age 23, as a result of a drug overdose, after struggling for several years with substance use disorder. The purpose of this Memorial Walk is to remember lives taken too soon, raise awareness of addiction, educate the community about recovery services, and celebrate those living in recovery. <\/span><\/p>\n

Proceeds will benefit Recovery Advocacy In Saratoga (RAIS) and the Healing Springs Recovery Community & Outreach Center.\u00a0 <\/span>RAIS and Healing Springs are programs of the Prevention Council.\u00a0 <\/span>Register at www.zippyreg.com?event=1147.<\/span><\/p>\n

Skidmore recently received dozens of notable accolades, including being ranked No. 41 by U.S. News & World Report<\/i> in the National Liberal Arts Colleges category of the 2019 Best Colleges rankings released n September.
